【アスナル金山 20周年】
今日は、私をサポートしてくれている方とディナーの約束があり、金山駅で待ち合わせ。
その合間、ふと駅前で立ち止まり、懐かしい思い出が蘇りました。

社会人になりたての1989年。当時の金山は、今とは全く違う風景でした。
まだ「金山総合駅」になる前で、JR・名鉄・地下鉄が別々の場所にあり、
地下の通路は薄暗く、物乞いの方々がいたのを微かに覚えています。
正直、あまり良い印象はありませんでした。

それが1990年代後半、金山総合駅として生まれ変わり、
乗り換えがスムーズになって明るい駅へと変貌。
さらに2005年、駅前に「アスナル金山」がオープンし、
若い人々で賑わう街へと変わっていきました。

今夜見かけた「アスナル金山20周年オブジェ」は、廃棄されたエアバッグと伝統工芸「有松絞り」の融合。
環境と伝統、過去と未来を繋ぐ、素敵なアートでした。

時代は流れ、2028年にはアスナル金山も閉鎖され、
新たな複合施設として生まれ変わる予定です。
同時に駅北側でも再開発が進み、金山はまた新しい姿に。

街も人も、時代と共に変化し続けている。
私自身も、取り残されないよう前を向いて歩いていきたいと思います。

【20th Anniversary of Asunal Kanayama】
Tonight, I had a dinner appointment with someone who’s been supporting me, and we met at Kanayama Station.
While waiting, I found myself staring into the night, reminiscing about the past.

Back in 1989, when I had just started working, Kanayama Station was completely different.
It wasn’t yet the “Kanayama General Station” we know today — the JR, Meitetsu, and subway lines were all separate.
I vaguely remember walking through a dim underground passage to transfer lines, and honestly, it wasn’t the most pleasant memory, as there were often homeless people around.

Later, the station was redeveloped into a bright, convenient hub, and in 2005, Asunal Kanayama opened, bringing in crowds and youthful energy to the area.

Tonight, I saw a special art piece commemorating Asunal Kanayama’s 20th anniversary.
It was made from discarded airbags combined with traditional Arimatsu Shibori fabric — a beautiful fusion of sustainability and heritage.

Now, I hear that Asunal Kanayama will close in 2028 for redevelopment into a new complex.
The north side of the station is also set for transformation. Kanayama is evolving once again.

Cities, just like people, change with time.
And I felt a quiet determination not to be left behind, but to keep growing along with the time
